Oh What a Beautiful Mornin'

Oh What a Beautiful Mornin' is the opening song from the musical Oklahoma! written by composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II. It is sung by Curly McLain at the beginning of the first scene.

The musical is based on Lynn Riggs' 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs. Oklahoma! was a box-office success and ran on Broadway for an unprecedented 2,212 performances, beginning in 1943. Subsequently, there were award-winning revivals, national tours, foreign productions, and an Academy Award-winning 1955 movie adaptation.
