November Rain

November Rain is a "power ballad" by American rock band Guns N' Roses, written by lead singer Axl Rose. Released as a single in June 1992, it peaked at number-3 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song features a sweeping orchestral backing, and is one of Guns N' Roses' longest songs. It is included on the Guns N' Roses album Use Your Illusion I. November Rain is rated number-9 in the Richter Scale's Best Songs of All Time, and, in 2006, was number-1 on the Rock 1000, an annual countdown of the top one thousand rock songs by New Zealand radio listeners.

Guns N' Roses is an American hard-rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1985. It released six studio albums: Appetite for Destruction (1987; 28 milion copies sold), G N' R Lies (1988), the twin albums Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II (1991; 35 million copies sold), The Spaghetti Incident? (1993), and Chinese Democracy (2008). The albums had sales of more than 100 million, making them one of the world’s best-selling bands. Their song Sweet Child o' Mine from the album Appetite for Destruction reached number-1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2002, Q magazine named Guns N' Roses in their list The 50 Bands to See Before You Die. The television network VH1 ranked Guns N' Roses ninth in its 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock special. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Guns N' Roses number-92 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Guns N' Roses was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. The band has also received criticism for flagrant alcohol and drug abuse by some of its members.
