New York, New York

Composed by John Kander with lyrics by Fred Ebb, New York, New York is the theme song from Martin Scorsese's 1977 movie New York, New York. The song was written for and performed in the movie by Liza Minnelli. The song is a celebration of New York City, and has become the city's "quasi-anthem".

The song became popular after Frank Sinatra performed it at Radio City Music Hall in 1978, and it became one of his signature songs. The song has been covered by many other artists, including Sammy Davis, Jr.
