Naruto

Naruto is an anime series that ran on TV Tokyo (220 episodes) from 2002 to 2007. It was directed by Hayato Date, and its soundtracks were composed and arranged by Toshio Masuda. Episodes from the series have been produced for DVD format, and there are movie versions.

The anime is based on the manga series with the same name, written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. The manga was first published in 1999 in Japan's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine. Over fifty tankōbon volumes have been released. The plot concerns an adolescent ninja who aspires to become a Hokage, the ninja in his village who is acknowledged as the leader and the strongest of all.
