My One and Only Love

"My One and Only Love" originated in 1947 as "Music form Beyond the Moon", with music by Guy B. Wood and lyrics by Jack Lawrence. The song did not become a hit until Robert Mellin fit the song with a new set of lyrics. The cover by Frank Sinatra lifted it to number 28 on the charts.

Other artists who made cover versions include Doris Day and Andre Previn (1962), John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman (1963 and 2001), Gerald Albright (1991), Joe Sample (1993), Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra (1960). Sting sung it for the soundtrack of the film Leaving Las Vegas (1995).
