Mozart's Turkish March
One of Mozart's best-known piano works, The Turkish March (also called Rondo Alla Turca or the Turkish Rondo) is the last movement of Mozart's Piano Sonata in A major, K 331. The piece imitates the music of the so-called Turkish Janissary bands. It was sometimes performed on pianos built with a "Turkish stop", which produced enhanced percussion effects.
The music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791) is one of humanity's greatest treasures. Unsurpassed in its abundance of fascinating brilliant ideas and its immense breadth of emotion, it provides boundless joy to listeners and performers.
