Mistral gagnant

Written by Renaud, Mistral gagnant is a song from his 1985 album with the same name, which has sold more than two million copies. In the song, Renaud singing to his young daughter about his childhood, realizes that time flies and that the laughs of his daughter as a child will fly away too.

Known as Renaud, Renaud Pierre Manuel Séchan (born in 1952), is a popular French singer, songwriter, and actor. His 'broken' voice results in a distinctive singing style. Several of his songs are popular classics in France, including the sea tale Dès que le vent soufflera, the irreverent Laisse béton, the ballad Morgane de toi, and the nostalgic Mistral gagnant. However, his work is not well-known outside the French-speaking world.
