Mendelssohn's Wedding March

Felix Mendelssohn's Wedding March is a famous piece from A Midsummer Night's Dream (Opus 61), a suite of incidental music written by Mendelssohn in 1842 for Shakespeare's play with the same name. The Wedding March is frequently used at weddings, and is often played on a church pipe-organ.

Felix Mendelssohn (1809 - 1847) was a German composer, pianist, organist, and conductor of the early Romantic period. His compositions include great symphonies, concertos, chamber pieces, and works for solo piano. His String Octet, Midsummer Night's Dream overture, and violin concerto are among his most famous works.
