As of 2003, Love Actually was the highest-grossing British movie ever, and it received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. The title, "Love Actually", was intended as an abbreviated version of the statement "Love actually is all around", a reference to the hit pop song Love Is All Around, performed by Wet Wet Wet in the 1994 movie Four Weddings and a Funeral. Love Is All Around is also parodied as Christmas Is All Around throughout the Love Actually movie. Richard Curtis was the screenwriter for the movies Love Actually and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
