Leonid Hambro (1920 - 2006) was an American pianist and composer. From 1961 to 1970, he was the musical partner of comedian/pianist Victor Borge, and he occasionally performed with Borge throughout the remainder of Borge's career. From 1970 to 1992, he was head of the Piano Department and Assistant Dean of the School of Music at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California. He composed the piano piece Happy Birthday Dear Ludwig, a set of five variations on the song Happy Birthday to You in the style of many famous Beethoven pieces - such as Minuet in G, Sonata Pathétique, Moonlight Sonata, Für Elise, and the Fifth Symphony.
Victor Borge (1909 - 2000) was a Danish and American comedian, conductor, and pianist who achieved great popularity in radio and television in the United States and Europe. He received numerous awards and honors, and was knighted by Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
