La La Land: Soundtrack Songs

The soundtrack for the 2016 movie La La Land was composed and orchestrated by Justin Hurwitz. La La Land is an American musical-drama written and directed by Damien Chazelle and starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as a musician, Sebastian, and an aspiring actress, Mia, who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles. The movie's title refers both to the city of Los Angeles and to the idiom for being out of touch with reality. The soundtrack album was released in December of 2016, and has peaked at number-2 on the US Billboard 200 and number-1 on the UK Albums Chart.

Mia And Sebastian's Theme is a sentimental and bittersweet musical melody recurring several times in La La Land. Early in the movie it's played by Sebastian and attracts Mia.

Justin Hurwitz is an American composer best known for scoring the 2016 movie La La Land. He also scored Damien Chazelle's two other feature movies, Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench and Whiplash. For La La Land, Hurwitz won the Golden Globe Awards for Best Original Score and Best Original Song. He was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Film Music, and for three Academy Awards: Best Original Score and Best Original Song (twice).
