Joe Hisaishi's Hana-Bi

Written by Joe Hisaishi, Hana-Bi (English: Fireworks) is the soundtrack of the 1997 movie with the same name. The soundtrack consists of eleven pieces, the first and last of which are called Hana-Bi and Hana-Bi (Reprise), respectively. The movie earned the Golden Lion award at the prestigious Venice Film Festival as well as numerous other accolades, and Joe Hisaishi won the Japanese Academy award for Best Music Score.

Joe Hisaishi (久石 譲, ), born in 1950, is a composer and director known for over one hundred movie scores and solo albums. He is best known for his work with movie-animator Hayao Miyazaki,and is also famous for the soundtracks he has provided for filmmaker Takeshi Kitano, including Hana-Bi.
