Jambalaya

"Jambalaya (On the Bayou)" is a song credited (with controversy) to American country music singer Hank Williams. It was first released in 1952. The Jo Stafford cover in 1952 reached #3 on the Billboard pop charts and made the song well known to non-country music fans. It was further popularized in a Rock 'n Roll version by Fats Domino. The Carpenters featured the song in their 1973 album Now & Then. Their version was released as a single outside the United States in 1974 and sold well in the U.K. and Japan. Many well-known U.S. artists have performed the song. Covers were also made in Dutch, Estonian, French, German, Indian, Italian, Mexican, Polish, and likely more.
