Iris by Goo Goo Dolls
Iris is a song composed by John Rzeznik for the rock-band Goo Goo Dolls. Originally written for the soundtrack of the 1998 movie City of Angels, the song was later included on the band's sixth album Dizzy Up the Girl. Iris was a number-one hit in both the modern-rock and adult-contemporary categories.
John Rzeznik (born in 1965) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the guitarist and frontman of the rock band Goo Goo Dolls, with whom he has recorded ten studio albums.
The Goo Goo Dolls is an American rock band formed in 1986 by guitarist and vocalist John Rzeznik, bassist and vocalist Robby Takac, and drummer George Tutuska. Mike Malinin was the band's drummer from 1995 until 2013. Renowned for their 1998 single Iris, The Goo Goo Dolls have had fourteen top-ten singles on various charts, and have sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.
