How Much Is that Doggie in the Window

"(How Much Is) That Doggie in the Window" was written by Bob Merrill in 1952. The best-known version of the song was recorded by Patti Page, with the flip side being "My Jealous Eyes." It reached #1 on both the Billboard and Cash Box charts in 1953. However, a recording by Lita Roza was the one most widely heard in the UK, reaching #1 on the UK Singles Chart in 1953. It gave Roza the title of being the first British woman to have a number one hit in the UK chart.
