Georgy Girl
Written by Tom Springfield with lyrics by Jim Dale, Georgy Girl is the title song from the 1966 British movie Georgy Girl based on Margaret Forster's 1965 novel with the same name. Performed by the Seekers, the song was a number-one Australian hit, and a number-three United Kingdom hit; in the United States, it ranked number-two on the Billboard Hot 100. Georgy Girl was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. In 1970, the movie was adapted for a short-lived Broadway musical with the same name.

Tom Springfield (born in 1934), the brother of singer Dusty Springfield, is an English composer, singer, and record-producer. He wrote many of The Seekers' hits.
Jim Dale (born in 1935) is an English actor, voice artist, singer, and songwriter. He was a member of Laurence Olivier's National Theatre Company, and he won two Grammy Awards for narrating the Harry Potter audiobook series.
