Forrest Gump: Feather Theme

The opening musical theme for the 1994 movie Forrest Gump is sometimes called the Feather Theme. It was composed by Alan Silvestri who scored the movie. It is one of the movie's four major musical themes, each composed to convey a specific emotion. In addition to Silvestri's score, the soundtrack for the movie includes songs from Elvis Presley, Fleetwood Mac, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Aretha Franklin, Three Dog Night, The Mamas & the Papas, The Doobie Brothers, Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Seger, and Buffalo Springfield. Alan Silvestri (born in 1950) is an American composer and conductor who works primarily in movies and television. He is best known for his frequent collaboration with movie director Robert Zemeckis, including compositions for movies such as the Back to the Future trilogy and Forrest Gump. He also scored the superhero movies Captain America: The First Avenger and Marvel's The Avengers. He has won two Grammy Awards, three Saturn Awards, and the Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award.
