Faure's Improvisation

Faure's Improvisation, opus 84, number 5, in C-sharp minor, is the fifth of the eight pieces for piano solo that comprise his Opus 84. According to Maurice Hinson's book Guide to the Piano Repertoire, third edition: "The titles [for Opus 84] were added later by the publisher, against Faure's advice. But they do not suggest the character of each piece. ... Improvisation : originally written for a sight-reading test at the Paris Conservatory, but a fine piece."
