Exodus Theme

Written by Ernest Gold, The Exodus Theme is the musical theme from the 1960 epic war movie Exodus, produced and directed by Otto Preminger. The film is based on the events that happened on the ship Exodus in 1947 and deals with the founding of the state of Israel around 1948.

The Exodus Theme has been covered by many artists. The Duprees sang the version called "This Land Is Mine" with lyrics written by Pat Boone. A version by Ferrante and Teicher ranked number two on the Billboard Singles Chart. Another notable version was recorded by jazz saxophonist Eddie Harris. Other versions were recorded by Mantovani, Peter Nero, Connie Francis, Edith Piaf, and classical pianist Maksim Mrvica.
