Desplat's River Waltz
River Waltz is a musical piece from the 2006 Chinese-American movie The Painted Veil, the soundtrack of which was composed by Alexandre Desplat. This is the third movie based on W. Somerset Maugham's 1925 novel with the same name. The other two are The Painted Veil (1934) and The Seventh Sin (1957).
Alexandre Desplat (born in 1961) is a French film composer. He has received four Academy Award nominations, five BAFTA nominations, and five Golden Globe nominations, winning a Golden Globe for his work on The Painted Veil in 2006. In 2011, he won his first British Academy Film Award for his score of The King's Speech. Alexandre Desplat has worked on several Hollywood movies including The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
