Debussy Suite Bergamasque

Clair de Lune ("moonlight", in French) is one of Claude  Debussy's most popular pieces. It's the 3rd movement of  his Suite Bergamasque, written in 1890 but not published until 1905. The title comes from Paul Verlaine's poem with the same name.

Originally written for piano, the suite has been orchestrated by many composers,  including André Caplet, Leopold Stokowski and Lucien Cailliet. Clair de Lune is on the soundtrack of Ocean's Eleven (2001), and Twilight (2008).

With a musical style in which impression matters more than direction, the revolutionary French composer Claude Debussy (1862 - 1918) produced a body of magnificent music, strikingly different from that of previous composers and having profound influence on subsequent composers.
