Carl Czerny's The Art of Finger Dexterity, Op. 740, is one of his most popular books of studies for the piano.
Carl Czerny (1791 – 1857) was an Austrian pianist, composer, and teacher. His music was influenced by his teachers, Clementi, Hummel, Salieri, and Beethoven. His many compositions include masses, requiems, symphonies, concertos, sonatas, and string quartets. Czerny is best remembered for his books of studies for the piano, such as The School of Velocity and The Art of Finger Dexterity.
