Cold Mountain: Soundtrack

Cold Mountain is the original soundtrack of the 2003 movie with the same name. It was produced by T Bone Burnett. In 2003, the album won the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music and the World Soundtrack Award for Best Original Soundtrack of the Year. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Score and the Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media. Also in 2003, the soundtrack songs Scarlet Tide, written by T-Bone Burnett and Elvis Costello, and You Will Be My Ain True Love, written by Sting, were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. In 2005, both of those songs were nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media.

Ada Plays, a piece written for piano solo, in D major, is performed on Track 16 by its composer Gabriel Yared.

Gabriel Yared (born in 1949) is a French-Lebanese composer, best known for his work in French and American movies. His work includes the scores for the French movies Betty Blue (1986) and Camille Claudel (1988). He has worked on English movies, including some directed by Anthony Minghella. He won an Oscar and a Grammy Award for his work on the movie The English Patient (1996) and was also nominated for the movies The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) and Cold Mountain (2003).
