Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White

With English lyrics by Mack David, Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White is a version of the popular songCerisier rose et pommier blanc, written in 1950 by Louiguy (Louis Guglielmi), with French lyrics by Jacques Larue. Perez Prado's instrumental version for orchestra was the most popular, placing number-one on the Billboard (United States) charts in 1955.

Alan Dale's vocal version reached number-fourteen on the Billboard charts in 1955. In the United Kingdom, Perez Prado's version and a version by the British trumpeter Eddie Calvert placed number-one, both in 1955. In 1982, the British pop-group Modern Romance's vocal version reached the UK Top 20. The piece has been covered by many others, including Liberace, Xavier Cugat, Bing Crosby, Harry James, and Lawrence Welk. In the movies, the song was featured in Underwater (1955), starring Jane Russell; and Perez Prado's recording was featured in Cookie (1989).
