Beethoven: WoO

Werke ohne Opuszahl (Works without opus number) (WoO) is a German musical catalogue prepared in 1955 by Georg Kinsky and Hans Halm. It lists all of the compositions of Ludwig van Beethoven that were not originally published with an opus number, or survived only as fragments. The abbreviation WoO is also used sometimes to refer to works without opus by other composers, such as Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann, Muzio Clementi, and Joachim Raff.

Beethoven's Minuet in G, WoO 10, Number 2, is a piano piece originally written for orchestra in 1795. There is  some evidence that Beethoven arranged it for orchestra, and also for two violins and bass, but only the piano arrangement still exists. This little gem is popular among beginning pianists. It's used in the 1957 stage-musical The Music Man.

The music of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 - 1827) is one of humanity's greatest treasures. Unsurpassed in its power of expression as well as its depth and diversity of ideas and feelings, it provides boundless joy to listeners and performers.
