Anne's Theme, The Homecoming

The Theme from Anne of Green Gables is the first piece on Hagood Hardy's soundtrack for Anne of Green Gables, a 1985 Canadian television movie based on a novel of the same name by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery. The movie aired on CBC Television as a two-part miniseries. Both parts were among the highest-rated programs ever on a Canadian television network. In 1986, the movie aired on PBS in the United States, on the series WonderWorks. It won many awards, including the 1986 Gemini Award for Best Original Music Score for a Dramatic Series.

Hagood Hardy (1937 - 1997) was a Canadian composer, pianist, and vibraphonist. He is best known for his soundtracks to the movies Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea, and for his single The Homecoming, originally created as music for a 1972 television commercial for Salada tea.
