Andante spianato et grande polonaise brillante
Andante spianato et grande polonaise brillante in E-flat major, Op. 22, is a piece for solo piano composed by Frédéric Chopin in 1836. He created this piece by merging two of his previous works: the Andante spianato in G (written in 1834 for piano solo) and the Grande polonaise brillante in E-flat (written in 1830-31 for piano and orchestra). The 2002 movie The Pianist concludes with the Grande polonaise brillante.
Frédéric Chopin (1810 - 1849), who wrote mostly for solo piano, is generally considered to be one of the great masters of Romantic music. His work, often sounding like spontaneous improvisation, is characterized by beautiful rhythmic melodies expressive of heart-felt emotion.
