Albeniz's Tango

Albéniz's Tango in D major (Opus 165, No. 2) is a piece for solo piano from his España, written in 1892.

Isaac Albéniz (1860 - 1909) was a Spanish Catalan pianist and composer best known for his piano works based on folk-music idioms. Albéniz's music brought significant attention abroad to Spanish music and energized the efforts of Spanish musicians. Transcriptions of his solo piano works have become an important part of the classical-guitar repertoire. In particular, Tango, Asturias, Granada, Sevilla, Cadiz, and Cordoba are heard most often on the guitar.
