A Time for Us

Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet

A Time for Us is an instrumental work arranged by Henry Mancini from Nino Rota's music for the 1968 movie Romeo and Juliet, an adaptation of the famous Shakespeare play. The piece was a number-one pop hit in 1969; and the movie, directed and co-written by Franco Zeffirelli, won Academy Awards for Best Cinematography and Best Costume Design, and was nominated for Best Picture and Best Director.

Nino Rota (1911 - 1979) was an Italian composer, best known for his movie scores. One of his two scores for the Godfather movie trilogy received the 1974 Academy Award for Best Original Score. A prolific composer, he also wrote ten operas, five ballets, and dozens of orchestral, choral and chamber works.

Henry Mancini (1924 - 1994) was an American composer and conductor, best known for his movie and television scores, including the theme to The Pink Panther movie series. He won twenty Grammy Awards, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and Academy Awards for his songs Moon River and Days of Wine And Roses.
