Research interests

Cardiac electrophysiology - particularly ion channels involved in contraction and automaticity of the heart.

Travel grants

1. Physiological Society, London ordinary member travel grant for 500 pounds to attend the South Asian Association of Physiologists conference held at Colombo in 2012.

2. Physiological Society, London affiliate travel grant for 400 pounds to attend the cardiac electrophysiology themed meeting held at University of Manchester in 2007.

Awards

1. Won the best e-poster prize on 1st December 2018 during the 64th annual national conference of the association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India (APPICON 2018) held at Manipal. 

2. Won the second prize for poster presentation at the SIMEDUCON 2018 conference held at Christian Medical College, Vellore on 3rd March 2018

3. Won the third prize for basic science faculty oral presentation during the 8th annual research day held at Christian Medical College on 10th October 2017. 

4. Junior travel fellowship awarded by Christian Medical College, Vellore in 2013 to train in the isolation and patch clamping of mice sino atrial nodal cells.

5. H. H. Loescheke research prize in techniques/instrumentation for the best paper in respiratory physiology for the year 2012 by the Association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India (APPI).

6. Shared the first prize for the best faculty poster presentation during the 6th Annual State Conference of the Association of Physiologists of Tamilnadu held at Madurai Medical College on October 1-2, 2012.
