The flooded zone in the Mekong River Delta. The upstream area of the Delta in An Giang province could be under 4 meters of water in the wet season!

Extensive canal network is very helpful for transporting agricultural produce and heavy equipment directly to the field.

Growing upland crops could bring more income than triple rice crops these days.

Even with modern-day transport, access by road is not possible to many part of the Delta.
