Phuc D. NGUYEN earned a B.Sc. (honors) degree in Electronics and Telecommunications in 2012 and an M.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering - Microelectronics in 2015, both from Vietnam National University (VNU-HCM). From 2012 to 2015, he served as a lecturer assistant at Vietnam National University - HCMC, University of Science (HCMUS). He obtained his Doctor of Engineering degree from the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan, in 2018.
Phuc was affiliated with the Posts and Telecommunication Institute of Technology, Ho Chi Minh Campus, as a lecturer-researcher from 2018 to 2020. In 2019, he was a postdoctoral scholar at École Nationale Supérieure de l'Électronique et de ses Applications, Cergy-Paris, France. In Fall 2020, Phuc joined NTT Communication Science Laboratories in Japan as a research associate. Currently, he is a researcher at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), in Japan.
Phuc has received several accolades, including the Best Paper award in ATC'18 and the Best Oral Presentation awards in GCCE'24, ICFCC'17 and FOSCOM'18.
His research interests include Optical Wireless Communications, Vehicular Communications, and FPGA-based accelerators for communication.
He is currently a senior member of IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), IEEE Photonics Society, and the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE).
