Prof. Russ Shafer-Landau, chair of the UW-Madison Department of Philosophy, gave a talk in defense of the legal recognition of same-sex marriage. He offered an argument from equality on behalf of such recognition, then presented and critiqued five arguments that oppose legalizing same-sex marriage.
