Can I attend a PTO meeting?
Absolutely! School activities, programs, academic curriculum, and staff development are supported by our PTO community. Therefore it would be invaluable for you to attend the PTO General Meetings and help enhance the quality of our scholars' education. Your participation and contribution, great or small, can make a difference. Meetings are usually held in the Multi-Purpose Room unless otherwise noted. Refer to the Calendar section for upcoming meetings.
I want be a volunteer. Where can I start?
We are always in need of volunteers. Without volunteers, the programs and events will not happen. Teachers will need room parent(s) to manage the classroom events. If your teacher already has that covered, contact our VP of Volunteer Coordinators for open positions. There are many committees without a chairperson and some committees will need additional members on their team to make their event successful. Your contribution small or big will be greatly appreciated!
Where do I turn in my collection of Boxtop labels?

What is PCE's Recycling Day?
PCE holds recycling days to raise money for the school and promote a clean environment. Acceptable items are printer cartridges, aluminum cans, and clear plastic bottles (CRV #1). Unacceptable are aluminum foil, glass, plastic milk jugs, milk cartons, newspapers, and steel cans. Two classes will be awarded a trash trophy for most participation and students who participate will be entered into a raffle for a $5 gift card. Drop off is located at the front of the school near the MPR. Schedule can be found on the Calendar link. One more thing....we always need volunteers to help! What is the PCE PTO and why should I join?
The PCE PTO is an organization that brings scholars, parents and teachers of Peters Canyon Elementary School together with one common goal in mind - to assist in providing our children with the very best educational experience possible. Families are welcome and encouraged to join the PTO and joining does NOT obligate you to volunteer nor participate in any activities. It does however demonstrate your support for our teachers and staff to bridge the best possible education for your kids.
What is the PTO Membership Drive?
The Membership Drive is PCE’s main direct giving campaign between August and September. It is designed to raise as much money as possible at the beginning of the school year. This allows us to gauge how much more fundraising will need to take place throughout the year to reach our annual PTO income goal to fund PCE’s supportive educational programs. AND your donation is 100% tax-deductible!
What programs does the PCE PTO support?
PCE PTO supports many adjunctive programs including but not limited to: Walk to School Day, Book Fairs, Birthday Book Club, Holiday Performances, Read Across America, Classroom Instructional Support Personnel, Playground and Athletic Equipment, Educational Assemblies including Imagination Machine, Alley Cats, and Ultimate Science, Family Nights like Bingo and Movie Night, Field Trips, Red Ribbon Week, Art and Music Programs, Talent Show, Professional Staff Development, Teacher Materials and Stipends, Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week, and Computer and Technology including our Innovation Station…and much more!
May I donate any amount?
We understand that our families are financially diverse and anticipate donations of varying amounts. We ask that you consider giving the most that you can at a level that is comfortable for your family. Since 100% of our students benefit from all of the great programs supported by PCE PTO, it makes sense that 100% of our families should pay for them. A suggested donation of $250 per student covers the estimated budget supported by the PCE PTO.
How do I join the PCE PTO?
You can sign up online or by paper form that will be sent home in your child’s first day of school packet. Just return the filled out family form with your donation check in your child’s Friday Folder or in our Membership Drop Box located on Mrs. Cobb’s desk in the front office.
Do I need to fill out a paper form if I registered online?
No. Simply complete the donation form online and pay via Paypal! No further action is required. You do not need to turn in the paper form.
Do I need to fill out a new form for each of my kids?
No. You only need to complete the form once for your family. You can list all of your children and their teachers on the one form.
Is my PTO donation tax deductible?
Yes! Your donation is 100% tax deductible. PCE’s PTO is a qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, tax payer ID #33-0760280
Can my company sponsor a corporate donation?
Absolutely! We love corporate sponsors and with your donation, we will place your company logo on newsletters, website and social media pages.
Do you accept company gift matching?
Yes! Yes! Yes! Many Companies match cash gifts made by an employee to charitable non-profit organizations like Peters Canyon Elementary PTO! If you or your spouse work for, or have retired from, a company that offers gift matching, you may be able to double or even triple your cash gift to PCE PTO! See the Company Match info tab.
