I've been meaning to work on my website for the past decade or so, and finally I am getting around to it. I thought it would be in worse shape than it is, since apparently at least I did a little maintenance when Google retired their old sites platform. It's less work than I feared it would be, but I do have rather a lot of content to add as I have not been idle during the past several years.
My most recently completed project is a 1:72 scale VF-1S Valkyrie in beast mode. I loved these Macross vehicles when I was a kid in the '80s. In those days I had never heard of Macross, but I recognized these Gundamesque machines under the name of Robotech. I hope to get some less chaotic photos of this build in the near future, but for now here it is as I applied some final touches:

I've been meaning to post some pictures of the model airplane I built. I finally posted it in a new area that may eventually see a few more photos of some past aircraft modeling projects.

I suppose it's been a while since I added any content to my little website. I put up a new page for my St. Paul violin, which I finished last year. See my violins section if you are interested in that work. I'm really happy with the results.

I added a link to my Zazzle store on the POV-Ray Gallery page. You can get prints of some of my POV-Ray art from that link. I forgot that I had made a Zazzle store for those pictures! No one has ever bought a genuine Peter McCombs copy. ;)

I posted some pictures of a little toy tugboat I made. Look for it in the "Model Ships" gallery.

I have added a few pictures of my newest violin project to the Violins page. This is the 3/4 size Tiemann violin. I finished making it about a week ago. This instrument is considerably nicer than my first.

Welcome to the new petermccombs.com. I have taken down the old site due to cost, infrequency of updates, and maintenance hassles with my old hosting provider. This site will have a simpler format and hopefully include all of the interesting pictures and projects that I had uploaded to my former home on the Web. I will try to restore most of my previous content over the next few days.
If you are still interested in some content available on my old site, try the Internet archive. Unfortunately, it looks like they only archived my site through 2007.
I also maintain a semi-private weblog called Surviving Phalaris. That site has more frequent updates and contains my occasional reflections on philosophy, politics, religion, and society.
Use the site navigation to the left to access different areas of the web site. I have also included some links to external family and friend sites and blogs.
