"Professor Haslag is one of the best professors I have had at Vanderbilt, even with a very tough material. His lectures were great and he always made himself available to meet with us at any time. He is very receptive to emails and reasonable with grading."
"Prof Haslag has been awesome. Probably the best Prof I've had in terms of keeping things up to date on Brightspace and really responding to feedback and the needs of the class. He adjusted the course halfway through without batting an eye, which can't be said for every prof. He also is very relatable and understands how students live at Vandy, so he's easy to work with and easy to get to know."
"Professor Haslag truly cares about his students understanding Finance, and makes the classroom a comfortable place to ask questions, which ultimately stimulates learning."
"Professor Haslag's teaching style--accessible and trying to apply to our lives/business, as well as constantly incorporating examples, was incredibly effective."
I am asked to write students letters of recommendation for time to time. I'm happy to do so, such that you meet the following conditions:
Submit the following material via email: resume, unofficial transcript, link/document to program, a brief description of your desire to pursue the endeavor, and a statement giving me the right to discuss your performance in my class.
You must have received a "B+" or better in my class.
Give me three weeks at a minimum to complete your application. Ideally, more time will allow for a more thoughtful letter.
A few other notes: It would be helpful if we have [had] discussions outside of class. The best letters of recommendation are when I can speak to several aspects of the student and am familiar with the student's goals and interests. Please send me a reminder at least one week prior to the deadline. Make sure to let me know the outcome of the application process. Finally, I am happy to write students letters, but I also retain the option to refuse. You can reference
