The Pensacola Branch of ASCE will be hosting the 2018 Engineering Encounters Bridge Design Contest on Saturday, April 7th for elementary, middle, and high school students living in and around the Pensacola area. Individuals and teams of two may compete. The contest is to design a truss bridge that can support a truck at the lowest cost, using the Engineering Encounters Bridge Design Software. Below is a flyer with contest information and a PowerPoint Presentation that provides a tutorial on how to use the program.

When: Saturday, April 7th at 9:30 AM

Where: Downtown Pensacola Library, 239 N. Spring Street, Pensacola, FL 32502

Prizes: The top three winners from the middle and high school division will receive cash prizes of up to $100. First place from the middle and high school division will also be invited to compete at the State Competition in St. Petersburg on July 13th. The elementary school division is a local only competition. Winners from that category will receive a cash prize, but will not be able to compete at the State Competition.
