Our group conducted research on exciting topics in theoretical photonics, including topological phenomena, nonlinear light propagation and solitons, non-Hermitian wave systems, and disorder effects. While our work was theoretical we were also very interested in seeing our ideas tested in the lab and maintained close collaborations with a number of international experimental groups. We were based at the Center for Theoretical Physics of Complex Systems, part of the Korean Institute for Basic Science. Our work was generously supported by a Young Scientist Fellowship.
