Computer Repairs Warranty

Warranty & Returns

Hardware Warranty is for up to 12 months from date of purchase, PC Mike will accept this item for the first 30 days of the warranty after which you must go through the manufacturer. Any faulty hardware will be replaced after testing only. Any hardware found not faulty will be subject to a 25% restocking charge.

PC Mike service warranty is for 30 days and does not include software issues created and/or caused by the "end user", viruses, tampering with the settings etc and only covers the issues it was originally brought in for. User supplied parts are not covered by PC Mike.

PC Mike does not offer warranty on software provided with a product key or parts purchased that are damaged due to power surges or user tampering.

Collection Notes

If any item left for repairs with PC Mike is not paid for in full or collected within 14 days of the work being completed and no attempt of collection is made, then CHARGES of £5 will be added per day. Your original parts will be kept for you to pick up for a further 30 days and then discarded/sold on if still in our possession.

Disclaimer

Please note that any warranties held on items brought in for repair will be made void if we have to go inside the item.

Repairs are charged at a standard charge which covers all software related issues and testing of hardware. If new hardware is needed then fitting charges will apply plus the cost for the hardware, Laptops fitting is more expensive due to them being more complex. PC Mike will contact you before new hardware is fitted. If you decide you don’t want the repair to commence at any time you may still be charged a diagnosis charge by

PC Mike and its Technicians are not responsible for acts beyond our control.

 

The clients must back up all data, or PC Mike will do it for them (for a fee of £15) WE CANNOT BACKUP MP3 FILES OR MOVIES DUE TO COPYRIGHT LAWS , however we will not be held responsible should backed up data get corrupted during backup. If the client chooses not to back up data and work performed causes data loss, the client assumes full responsibility for such loss.

Please make sure that any internet related problem does not lie with your service provider and that your broadband line has been enabled before calling out our staff as if we do come out and the problem lies with your service provider then you will still be charged for the time spent diagnosing.

PC Mike no longer repairs Laptop Power Jacks

Pirated Software:

PC Mike Staff will not knowingly participate in any illegal activity.

PC Mike and its Technicians are under no obligation to install, reinstall, or configure any software/music that is known to be pirated.

If an illegal windows operating system is found on the machine you will be required to purchase a valid windows license.

Privacy Statement:

PC Mike and its Technicians, in the course of their work, must at times look at files and folders on the clients computer(s). Personal and/or business information will be kept in accordance with the data protection act 1998. Illegal activities if seen will be reported to the proper authorities as deemed necessary.

NO FIX - NO FEE

When we apply the no fix charge it means we have been unable to fix the problem which you have described so will not charge!

Testing charges will apply if we trace the problem down to Specific hardware and you decide not to commence with the repair..

We only offer refunds on repaired PC's when we find it impossible to fix/diagnose the fault in the system and/or hardware.

 

Privacy Statement

PC Mike is committed in protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).

We collect information about you for two reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service.

We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us or from another trader in the future.

The type of information we will collect about you includes:

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.

The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law.

We may use technology to track the pattern of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way is to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item.

 

Terms & Conditions

All orders for goods accepted by PC Mike. ("the Vendor") are accepted subject to the following conditions which shall form part and govern the contract of sale. Acceptance of goods shall be deemed to be acceptance of these conditions of sale. Any term sought to be imposed by a purchaser either in a document or otherwise that conflicts with or adds to these conditions is not accepted.

No agent or representative of the vendor has authority to vary these conditions unless accepted in writing by a director of PC Mike.

1 - Payment and Price

The vendor reserves the right to vary the quoted price of the goods by upward additions in accordance with the market conditions at the date of actual supply and the purchaser shall pay such additions in addition to the quoted price. Price Lists do not constitute an offer.

All invoices are due for payment on the date shown on the invoice. Payment is to be made in sterling unless otherwise agreed in writing by a director.

2 - Availability of Goods

The vendor will use its best endeavours to comply with the date named for dispatch or delivery which date is given and intended as estimate only and is not to be the essence of contract. If owing to non - availability of the goods or any other causes beyond the vendor's control, the vendor shall be unable to effect delivery hereunder it shall be at liberty to determine the contract or part thereof by giving notice in writing to the purchaser.

3 - Property and Risk

For so long as any amounts remain owing from the purchaser to the vendor (whether immediately due or not) title to the property of the goods shall remain in the vendor and ownership will not pass to the purchaser until the vendor has received payment in full. In the event of the purchaser reselling the goods, if the vendor has not received all amounts owing to it the purchaser shall account to the vendor for the proceeds of any such sale and meanwhile will hold all proceeds of such sale of such goods upon trust of the vendor until the vendor have received such amounts in full. At any time after the due date for payment from the purchaser to the vendor, and so long as such amounts have not been received by the vendor in full, the vendor at the purchaser's expense shall have the right to enter the purchaser's premises and remove there from all the goods which remain the property of the vendor.

4 - Design Variation

Whilst the vendor makes every effort to ensure that the goods supplied correspond to in every effect with the sample, specification or description provided as the case may be, the vendor is not responsible for the minor variations in specification in colour or other design features, and no such minor variation shall entire the purchaser to rescind the contracts or shall be the subject of any claim against the vendor by the purchaser.

5 - Claims

No liability for any claim for damage or non-functionality shall be accepted unless the purchaser notifies the vendor in writing or by telephone within 48 hours of delivery. This period may be extended at the sole discretion of the vendor where the manufacturer's replacement policy extends the deadline

No liability for any claim for missing items such as manuals, etc shall be accepted unless the purchaser notifies the vendor in writing within seven days of delivery.

No liability for any claim will be accepted in the case of goods differing in quantity or descriptions from the purchaser given on the delivery note unless the vendor is notified in writing by the purchaser within seven days of delivery and the onus is on the purchaser to prove any shortage.

In the case of manufacturers who operate direct product support and returns procedures, the purchaser accepts an obligation to process their claim directly through the manufacturer.

6 - Guarantee

The Purchaser shall, unless otherwise, in writing, be responsible for all carriage, telephone, postal and other incidental charges incurred during the guarantee period. All goods are guaranteed if delivery is made via our official courier. All Goods recieved in a bad condition by the couriers should be reported within 24hours and should be signed (received in bad condition). Goods are not guaranteed if they are delivered via Royal Mail. The Purchaser can arrange for collection of goods through their own choice of courier with their own specified guarantee since PC Mike will not cover any consequential losses if this is arranged.

7 - Distance Selling Regulations

In accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations, the customer has the right to cancel an order within one week (7 working days) of delivery providing he has proof of delivery. In accordance with legal provisions personalised items, unsealed software or audio and products containing an activation key are exempt. The customer is expected to take good care of all items and not use them, any goods not returned in an 'as new' condition may be refused or involve extra costs in making the goods 'as new'. In order to meet the 1 (one) week deadline, mailing the cancellation notice within that time frame is sufficient. Please, always refer to and include the order number. The cancellation must be put in writing and must be forwarded to Orders, PC Mike, Suite 9, 152 Albertbridge Road, Belfast, BT5 4GU (email info@pcmikeni.com). When returning non-faulty goods under the Distance Selling Regulations delivery costs may not be refunded, if the customer wishes PC Mike to collect the goods the costs incurred shall also be deducted from any refund. Please note that you have no right to return goods under the Distance Selling Regulations

8 - Returned Goods

The vendor will not accept goods for credit or rectification unless such return has been authorised by a director, and the goods are received by the vendor in stock condition, with original packaging, software. The vendor reserves the right at its sole discretion whether to accept the return of the goods or whether to rectify the goods or whether to issue a credit note in respect thereof. The vendor reserves the right to charge a restocking fee on goods returned for credit which are not in stock condition.

The purchaser shall unless otherwise stated be responsible for the cost of outward and return carriage and insurance of all goods returned by the purchaser to the vendor for service or credit which goods shall be at the risk of the purchaser until actual receipt of the goods by the vendor. The proof of safe delivery shall rest with the purchaser.

All items returned to the vendor by pre-arrangement and found to contain no fault, will be subject to a 25% restocking charge, provided the goods are in original stock condition. Any downward variation of this restocking charge shall be at the sole discretion of the vendor.

A 25% Service charge will be applicable if No Fault Found.

No credit shall be allowed for goods until they have been received complete.

A Full Credit will only be given on items returned within 7 Days from Purchase.

If a credit is to be given, the original carriage charge will not be refunded / credited.

9 - Consequential Loss

The extent of the vendor liability on the purchaser for any default or breach whatsoever and howsoever arising shall in no case exceed the invoice value of the goods and the vendor shall in no circumstances whatsoever be liable to the purchaser in respect of any loss or damage whether suffered by the purchaser or any customer of the purchaser and whether direct, indirect, consequential, or however else arising. PC Mike will not be responsible for any data loss howsoever arising. You are responsible to backup your data on a regular basis.

10 - Law

If any part of these terms and conditions shall be found to be unlawful it shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remainder of the conditions.

This contract is and shall be deemed to have been made in Northern Ireland and shall in all respects be governed by Northern Ireland Law.

In respect of consumer sales only, statutory rights are unaffected by these terms and conditions.
