2015 & 2016 Programs

2016 Chinese STEAM & Culture Academy

Program Description:

Our three-week immersion program will offer 60 elementary students an intense but fun learning experience focusing on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) and Mandarin Chinese. It is open to all current students from kindergarten to fifth grade in Prince George's County, Maryland and its neighboring areas. Students will be divided into three classes of 20 students according to their grade levels: kindergarten - 1st grade, 2nd - 3rd grade, and 4th - 5th grade. By the end of the program, students will be able to use Chinese both to greet each other, and to exchange information related to the theme "What's the Matter with the Ice Cream". In addition to being engaged in hands-on science, cultural activities, and field trips, students will beat the summer heat with the ice cream they will make as a culmination of their STEAM and Chinese Culture lessons.
