Pau Vall-Prat

I am postdoctoral researcher at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid -  Instituto Juan March. I defended a dissertation entitled The Political Economy of Regional Elite Splits at the Universitat de Barcelona in 2022. As a graduate student I have been a visiting researcher at the University of Gothenburg (Fall 2021) and at Yale University (Fall 2019).

My thesis focused on intra-elite conflicts in democratization periods, especially on the origins of intra-elite splits and how elite parties competed under electoral autocratic regimes.

I hold a BA in Political Science and Public Administration, and a Research Master in Political Science from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and a MSc Political Science and Political Economy at the London School of  Economics and Political Science. Before joining the UC3M-IJM, I was researcher at the Institutions and Political Economy Research Group (IPERG - Universitat de Barcelona).
