Memoirs of World War I ---Joseph Russell (1896-1965)
The document attached to this link is a typed copy of the war memoirs that my grandfather, Joseph Russell (1896-1965) wrote shortly before he died.
As the centenary of the end of WWI has just passed [11 November, 1918], I have decided to take the time to edit and present these memoirs online. I hope that doing this will to make them available not only to my family but also to others who might be interested in this record of the suffering and terrible experiences of soldiers of my grandfather's generation. It is also, of course, a way of remembering them.
