I investigate the physics and mechanics of granular media and other disordered materials, systems in which fascinating emergent phenomena arise. These complex behaviors are often far from equilibrium and beyond the linear response regime.
Gaining insight into such systems frequently requires developing new experimental techniques, analytical tools, numerical simulations, and theoretical models.
My primary research interests include granular packings, mixing and mixtures, particle crushing, granular flows, and the optimization of processes involving granular materials.
