President Reagan's Favorite Macaroni and Cheese
½ lb. macaroni 1 t. dry mustard
1 t. butter 3 C. grated cheese, sharp
1 egg, beaten 1 C. milk
1 t. salt
Boil macaroni in water until tender and drain thoroughly. Stir in butter and egg. Mix mustard and salt with 1 tablespoon hot water and add milk. Add cheese leaving enough to sprinkle on top. Pour into buttered casserole, add milk, sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until custard is set and top is crusty.
Macaroni Salad from Elvis' Kitchen
1 lb. macaroni 4 tablespoons sugar
½ cup sweet pickles 2 cups mayonnaise
½ cup chopped onion ½ teaspoon paprika
½ cup chopped bell pepper 1 teaspoon salt
1 dozen boiled eggs
Boil macaroni for about 15 minutes. Mix all other ingredients together well. Pour over macaroni and sliced boiled eggs and mix well.
