History

    Pasong Tamo Elementary School came into view in 1926, from a humble existence, sharing common culture and aspirations located along Tandang Sora Ave., in a 7,560 square meters. It was a one-room schoolhouse when constructed under the leadership of the following principals. This schoolhouse was made up of bamboo walls (sawali) and steel sheets made possible through bayanihan spirit. The lot was donated by Mr. Urbano Eugenio and some portion from the Fabre family.

    In 1953, when the Galbaldon type building was built, during the time of Pres. Ramon Magsaysay and Eulogio Rodriguez Jr. as Governor, the first graduation/commencement exercise happened in 1965.

    Pasong Tamo Elementary School is geographically situated in the heart of Quezon City is endowed with historical, rich culture and aspirations headed by the Katipunero, Melchora Aquino in Tandang sora. The name was derived from the wild plants called “Tamo” thickly growing along the major paths cutting through from the eastern parts to the western exits of this area. The revolutionary, Andres Bonifacio, so named the place.

    Pasong Tamo was formally created under Executive Order 27 pursuant to Ordinance No. 4992 during the incumbency of the late Mayor Norberto S. Amoranto, and the school was named after the barangay and was called Pasong Tamo Elementary School.
