Things to Set Up First (make sure you have these!)

Google Earth - latest version

Google Earth API

Go to the link and let the website download the plug-in. If you see the window with the default Google Earth view, you already have the API loaded!

Google Account via Blogger

Not required, but helpful. Creates a Google Account used by Gmail, Google Groups, Google Sites, Blogger, etc. You can use your own existing non-Google email account!

Saving your data in a network link allows you to upload edits to your KML and have your users receive the edits automatically!

2. EMBEDDING YOUR KML

The Embed KML Gadget link

For a hosted Park KML file, use this text in the Embed KML Gadget's "KML or MyMaps URL" entry:

Embedding your KML in Blogger or your own webpage Link

Embedding your KML in Google Sites:

• Click Edit Page to begin editing your Google Sites page
• At the location on your page where you want the tour, click, then on the Insert menu, choose More Gadgets...
• On the window that pops up, the second to last choice is Add gadget by URL. Click that.
• In the "Enter the URL of the Gadget you would like to add" box, enter this:

https://developers.google.com/kml/embed/embedkmlgadget.xml

https://developers.google.com/kml/embed/tourgadget.xml (for adding tours)

• When the gadget properties window comes up, enter in the "KML or My Maps URL" box, enter the GGNRA Trails URL above, or any other hosted KML.
• Change any other setting you want in the gadget properties window and click Preview or OK then save your page to see your tour in action!

3. EMBEDDING YOUR YOUR KML/KMZ with TOUR

For a hosted Park KML file with a tour, use this text in the Gadget's "KML URL" entry:

Embedding your tour in Google Sites:

• Click Edit Page to begin editing your Google Sites page
• At the location on your page where you want the tour, click, then on the Insert menu, choose More Gadgets...

• In the "Enter the URL of the Gadget you would like to add" box, enter this:

http://code.google.com/apis/kml/embed/tourgadget.xml

• When the gadget properties window comes up, enter in the "KML URL" box, enter the TV Viewing Locations URL above, or any ohter KML containing a tour.
• Change any ohter setting you want in the gadget properties window (like AutoPlay!) and click Preview or OK then save your page to see your tour in action!
