Grade 1

November : The students in Grade 1 read the book "Orange Pear Apple Bear" by Emily Gravett.

The students then created a rhythmic pattern based on what they thought a bear would like to eat.

We then combined the rhythmic patterns with the song "Fuzzy Wuzzy" to create a new composition.

Our new compositions have an ABAB form. "Fuzzy Wuzzy" is the A section and the rhythmic patterns are the B section. Each composition is performed twice. The first time the students play their rhythms using rhythm sticks the second time the students use Boomwhackers.
