Biography
I joined Lumme Inc. in October 2015 to develop a mobile health application designed to help people who are trying to quit smoking. This product is based on my Ph.D. research work on smoking detection using wearable inertial sensors. This project is funded by a Direct-to-Phase II NIH SBIR Contract Award.
I received my Ph.D. from University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2014 and bachelors degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 2005. During my PhD, I was advised by Prof. Deepak Ganesan and I was a member of Sensor Networks Research Group. For my M.S., I worked with Prof.Gerome Miklau in the area of Database Privacy research at UMass-Amherst. Prior to that, I worked at IBM India Research Labs, New Delhi (2005-2007). Most recently, I worked at HP Labs between Oct 2014 - Oct 2015 as a researcher in Networking and Mobility Group.
Research
My primary focus area of research is context-aware mobile computing. In my research, I work at the intersection of machine learning and big-data analytics over multi-modal sensor data to build mobile health applications.
