Parasher Baruah is a  director- cinematographer based in Mumbai,India.A graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), he has been involved with a number of feature films, both regional and hindi,and several documentaries in various capacities. His films have won national and international awards and have been to several film festivals. His recent feature films include Chappad Phaad Ke on Disney Hotstar,Axone on Netflix and Bahut Hua Sammaan on Disney Hotstar.He has over 200 music videos to his credit and has been associated with well known music based travelogues like MTV Sound Trippin,Dewarist etc.

 In 2019 ,His documentary Nodir Kul Nai,on the people living on the banks of the Brahmaputra River was selected in the Competition section of the 12th International Documentary & Short Films Festival Kerala (IDSFFK) . Waste, a documentary directed by him on the waste collectors of Mumbai was screened at the Munich DOK.FEST(2009). His art installations on migration and displacement  have been featured in exhibitions like ARTEast  and published in journals like International Gallerie,Seminar etc.

He has produced and directed some notable music videos for major labels like Sony Music India and Sufiscore.

It traces the emotional and spiritual calling of the 55-year-old indian  music composer Shantanu Moitra and explores his creative dimension and puts his physical mettle to the test.This is an epic journey of cycling across  the river Ganga on a cycle and a discovery of India and its musical roots.
