GLOBALIZATION, LABOR MARKETS AND DEVELOPING COUNTRIES
Summary: The GLOLADE project aims to examine different labor markets and firm outcomes (employment, wage gaps, revenue and quantity productivity) in developing countries, focusing on how these interact with abrupt policy changes and/or economic shocks. A significant portion of the program will be devoted to examining the dynamics of firm and worker informality, specifically how informal practices respond to their surrounding environments. This analysis will involve a comprehensive examination of the impact of government policies. By exploring several dimensions, our research aims to provide an overarching understanding of how different labor market and firm outcomes are influenced by the broader economic and policy landscape. Ultimately, this will contribute to more effective policy interventions in developing economies.
